Hello FriendsI wanted to report back that John kept his word. There was a check waiting for me when I checked the mail box. When the time comes, I will visit them again.Hello YelpersI just received an eMail from the owner. I am all about giving second chances to our local businesses and I think I will give them a second chance. I am giving 4 stars to the owner. This owner cares about his clients and his business. It would be very helpful if he would spend the time to train his crew so that no one else will experience the unpleasantness that I had experienced on my first visit. Here is his letter:Mr. James PMy name is John Hoppe and I am the owner of Personalized Auto Care. I saw your review on Yelp this morning and was stunned. First I want to thank you for your comments and critique. I would like to respond if I may. This is NOT the way we do business. As I just found out about this and obviously need to investigate it, I would like an opportunity to make this right. I will followup with my staff as to what happened and you can be assured this not happen in the future. We ALWAYS stand behind what we door say whether is a quote, a repair or a promise. I will be sending out a check for a complete refund, not just the $5.00. I would appreciate another opportunity to serve you. Thanks,JohnPersonalized Auto Service2200 Waukegan RdGlenview, Illinois 60025Phone 847-998-1700johnsplaceglenview.com9/17/2011 Edit On my home from St. Louis, I noticed that one of my tires were leaking air. I had to stop at few gas stations to refill my tire.John's Place, formerly known as Duxler Tire and Service of Glenview was closet to my home and YELP gave such good reviews so I thought I would give them a try. When I walked into this place, the salesman (dressed like a used car salesman with his Bling) took his sweet time in greeting me.When he finally did greeted me, I told him about my problem with the tire. He said that they do repair tires and said it would cost $25 + tax. After he got my info, one of the mechanic took my car into the garage. After about 35 minutes, they brought my car to the front. I went to the salesman to pay my bill. To my surprise the bill was for $30 + tax and not $25+ tax like he said in the begining. I was already lake for work and I did not feel like "fighting" over $5 so i just paid my bill.I would not trust this Salesman, I swear this guys reminds me of a dishonest used car salesman. If they are willing to cheat someone out of $5.00 I could just imagine what they would do with a huge repair.
